Crafted in Italy from 925 sterling silver and finished in 18k gold vermeil, the Valentino’s interlocking links create a substantial silhouette that sits beautifully along the collarbone. Subtle stones set within the links catch the light as you move, adding a restrained touch of brilliance. WHY THE MARINER LINK?

We chose the mariner link for how unmistakably Italian it looks. The open, elongated link with its central bar is a classic of European chain making, and at this width it is striking on the collarbone in a way finer chains never are. It was always meant to be the statement. Everything else in the look, the earrings especially, stays minimal so the Valentino carries the room.

WHY ITALY?

Italian chain makers are exceptional engineers of chain. Getting a link this substantial to articulate smoothly, sit flat and hold its shape is a technical problem as much as a design one, and that is why this piece had to be made in Italy. It carries the Made in Italy hallmark. It is the kind of chain you would expect to find in Italy, not here.

THE RHYTHM

A single white cubic zirconia sits at the centre of every link, repeating along the chain like a beat. They are there for a restrained flicker of light as you move, not a show of stones, and we name them for exactly what they are. Each link is textured as well, so the surface has character rather than a flat shine, and no two read quite the same.
