A note from the founder

My psychology degree took me into mental health casework, sitting alongside women living in domestic violence, homelessness and cycles of abuse. Then twelve years teaching in the classroom, alongside children directly impacted by their home environment.

That kind of work changes how you see everything. And it changes what you feel responsible for.

When I built SILFIRA, I knew it had to give back in a way that was real, local, and direct. Worn With Purpose is that commitment, written into the brand.

About Worthy Australia

When a family leaves a refuge, they leave with almost nothing. Worthy Australia is what comes next.

Worthy Australia is a Perth-based not-for-profit founded by registered nurse Jennifer Ball. It was awarded the 2024 Community Organisation of the Year by Volunteering WA. It is an ACNC registered charity, run entirely by volunteers, and donations made directly to Worthy are tax deductible.

Their flagship is the Safe Haven program. When a family is ready to move out of a refuge into permanent housing but has nothing to take with them, a Worthy volunteer team furnishes the house from scratch: bed frames, mattresses, linen, kettle, fridge, couch, dishes. They hand the keys back as a home, not a shell.

The practical impact is the obvious part. The less obvious part is what happens when a mother walks through the door with her children on the first day: beds made, kitchen stocked, lamps on. That moment is the difference between surviving the next week and starting the rest of her life.

Worthy Australia works in partnership with refuges and community organisations including Zonta House, Orana House, Salvation Army Women's Refuges and Ovis Community.

What your purchase does

Every piece sold at silfira.com.au contributes directly to a Safe Haven. There are no conditions, no minimums, and no exceptions. Whether your order is a $90 single ear cuff or a $649 baroque pearl necklace, 5% of the sale moves from SILFIRA to Worthy Australia.

That contribution is pooled and transferred to Worthy Australia, where it is put toward the practical items a Safe Haven is built from: a bed, a kettle, a fridge, a couch, towels, kitchenware. The things a family cannot leave a refuge without, and cannot afford to replace.

Why did SILFIRA choose Worthy Australia?

SILFIRA's founder Chanel worked in mental health casework with women living in domestic violence and homelessness, then taught for twelve years alongside children directly impacted by their home environment. Worthy Australia's Safe Haven program addresses the exact gap she saw firsthand: the moment a woman leaves a refuge with nothing, and needs a home to land in.

Is SILFIRA jewellery ethically made?

Yes. SILFIRA jewellery is designed in Perth, Australia and handcrafted globally by RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) certified artisans. The Worn With Purpose program is part of a broader commitment to making jewellery that means something beyond the moment you put it on.
