Caring for Your SILFIRA Jewellery

Your pieces are made to last. These guidelines will keep them looking exactly as intended.

Cleaning Wipe metal surfaces with the included polishing cloth after each wear to remove oils and residue. For pearls and gemstones, use a separate soft, non-abrasive cloth only - never a polishing cloth, which can damage delicate surfaces. For a deeper clean on metal, use mild soap in lukewarm water with a soft-bristled brush, rinse thoroughly, and dry immediately. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, harsh chemicals, and abrasive cloths.

Storage Store each piece individually in your SILFIRA pouch or box to prevent scratching. Keep pieces separate to avoid contact damage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Lay necklaces flat or hang them to prevent tangling.

Avoiding Tarnish Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, or applying fragrance, hairspray, or skincare. Moisture, chlorine, saltwater, and chemicals accelerate tarnishing. Put your jewellery on last -- it is the finishing touch, not the starting point.

If You Notice Tarnish Tarnish is a natural process that occurs when sterling silver reacts with oxygen, moisture, and sulphur compounds in the air and on skin. It appears as a dull, yellowish, or darkened layer on the surface of the metal and is not a sign of poor quality - it is simply silver behaving as it should. To restore your piece, gently buff the affected area with your SILFIRA polishing cloth using light, back-and-forth strokes. In most cases this will lift the tarnish and return the metal to its original lustre. The tarnish strip included in your pouch helps absorb moisture during storage, slowing the process between wears.

General Remove jewellery before sleeping. Have pieces professionally checked periodically for clasps, settings, and prongs.
